Paz wasn't too happy about making the Freak of the Week, but hey, some things are just meant to be.

Shot taken by Jesse in L.A... as for an explanation, well, no words could really do it justice.

Snowboarding tomorrow means setting up boards, putting boots on, strapping into bindings and hopping around the house today.

P.S Apologies for the lack of Revelstoke/Calgary pics, we've been a bit lazy on the ol' camera/really really ridiculously busy trying to organise stuff/I'm stealing this Internet off someone and it keeps cutting out.

L.A - the city of celebrities, of fatties, of cars, of cheap junk food, of ridiculously extravagant displays of wealth, of smog, of sun, of everything.

Everyone knows the crazy stereotypes from TV - the weird thing is, when you get there, the stereotypes are actually true.

What better way to start a new thing on the blog than a dude in leopard skin pants.
Kinda sums up what L.A is all about...

* Masterfully captured on film by Jesse.

Getting Stoked is proud to introduce the Revelstoke A-Team for the next four months, the cream of the crop of the southern hemisphere, making the journey north to make Canada a better place.

Paz and Stu are representing Australia and Croz and Jesse are bringing some New Zealand to the party, and, like our Power Ranger forefathers, when the A-Team combines, awesome, destructive monsters happen.

**Picture shamelessly ripped from revelstokemountainresort.com.

Good news keeps on rolling in - Revelstoke is opening for two days next weekend for a 'sneak peek', i.e a chance for us to track it out then wait until it re-opens for good the following Friday, December 4, by which time our lines will have been covered over!

Be sure to check in at Getting Stoked on the weekend for shots of what is hopefully a radical opening day!

Check out the info at Revelstoke's website.

J.R.R Tolkein, when writing his masterpieces Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit, never mentioned how adept the pint-sized fellows were at climbing.

Keen to prove that Hobbits could in fact make it up a cliff-face, Croz, Paz, Jesse and Stu ventured out towards Hobbiton to rock climb and chase farm animals.

Nature may have intended it, but it's still funny.

Paz and Stu hit the road in an extremely emasculating Hyundai for a road trip from Hamilton to Rotorua, with the simple goal of being as awesome as possible.

Goal achieved.

Revelstoke snow report:
Year to date: 136cm
Base depth @ 1950m: 89cm

Check it out here.

The mountain has pulled out a new look website as well, and is now calling Dec 5 a 'tentative' opening date...

Here's to hoping it's earlier!

A second round of pics from Oli, all people shots from around the camp.

The shot above is of Paul, an American guy who took a bad fall a few days after the photo and is recovering in hospital. He's a champion bloke and we all wish him a speedy recovery.

A selection of shots from around The Pines from Oli Delprado, squeezing the best out of his Nikon.

A selection of the finest pics from Araps... It's like a cheese platter of rock-based photography. Obviously, less cheese, more photos.

The snow is falling at Revelstoke - 71cm to date with more to come this week.

But it's not open until December 5 - lucky for some, those (including the author) who aren't arriving until the festive month, unlucky for those who have to stare at the snowcapped mountains while they cross the days off their calendars.

Worse though is the reviews from those already getting tracks - the lucky bastards in Colorado (Loveland) have been ripping it up for weeks, and the glowing reviews just make it worse for us waiting.

There's only so much a snowboarding video can do to scratch the itch, before it gets to a point where it actually makes it worse - the more you watch the more you want to go.

Hell, even watching Out Cold is making me hurt.

On a positive - Lake Louise opens on Friday and Sunshine next week, with a bunch of resorts opening in the lead-up to the important one: Revelstoke on Dec 5.

Hurry up...

The Araps trip was definitely a climbing trip, but when you put four blokes together with a big bag of coffee, jaffles and goon, things tend to take a while.

The down side - less climbing than you'd expect; the upside - millions of genius ways to pass the time around the campsite.
