For those who've followed this blog since rockclimbing days back at Arapiles in Victoria, Australia, you may remember hearing about Paul Bailey, a friend of ours who had a serious fall.

Five months on and he's still doing it tough, but I believe he's finally made it back home to the U.S where he will continue his recovery.

Recently a journalist in the States recently did a story on him, which is well worth a read.

His family has also set up a blog following the accident.

All the best dude.

If Powderfinger can do a best-of album, then hell, so can I.
The blog may only be a few months old, but with the new year rolling around it is time to do the Bit Of The Year In Review.

The idea behind this post was that it would be a cleverly written piece of literary gold, reflecting on the trip so far in a humourous way that would make people giggle.

Then laziness took hold, and it became a 'best pics of the Bit Of The Year' compilation.

A second round of pics from Oli, all people shots from around the camp.

The shot above is of Paul, an American guy who took a bad fall a few days after the photo and is recovering in hospital. He's a champion bloke and we all wish him a speedy recovery.

A selection of shots from around The Pines from Oli Delprado, squeezing the best out of his Nikon.

A selection of the finest pics from Araps... It's like a cheese platter of rock-based photography. Obviously, less cheese, more photos.

The Araps trip was definitely a climbing trip, but when you put four blokes together with a big bag of coffee, jaffles and goon, things tend to take a while.

The down side - less climbing than you'd expect; the upside - millions of genius ways to pass the time around the campsite.

I'm always hesitant to have a crack at black and white photography cos people do it too much and it looks a bit, well, shit.
But when we had the camera out Paz suggested it and I got a couple of crackers (I think, anyways) of him at the top of Watchtower.

The trip finally began last Monday when Stu, Paz and Danny hit the road to Mt Arapiles in Western Vic to climb some rock.

Paz and Stu hit Watchtower Chimney on Watchtower Face on Wednesday, a cruisey three pitch grade 12 with a lot of bridging up a chimney.
