Sometimes there's no way to introduce things until after you've seen them. This is one such example.
Made by a snowboarder from Whistler, Robjn Taylor. His short movies are hilarious, check more out here (Dogshirts is a classic too).

On Friday, a lack of energy to charge the hill courtesy of five consecutive days of riding combined with a lack of new snow (for once) finally persuaded Stu to take the camera up to capture some happy snaps.

Suffice to say, there was still enough fresh snow about to make him take his camera duties rather, ah, lightly.

Anyways, click read more to see a few shots from the hill.

So the mountain has been open for two weeks, and this blog has had next to nothing on snowboarding, despite being a snowboarding blog. What the hell?

It's not my fault, honest. I was, ah, distracted. By the epic snow. I was going to get some photos the other day, and then it snowed. Again. Woops. You understand, right?

Click read more and receive a text-based illumination (and maybe a couple of, ah, borrowed, pics) into the wonderful world of Getting Stoked's time on the hill.

Title says it all, the mid-mountain opens tomorrow. Yaaay! That means heaps more terrain, lots of fresh lines and good stuff.

The Getting Stoked crew checked out (read: ducked a rope) the mid-mountain runs and took Snow Rodeo down to mid-mountain lodge a couple of days ago, and coverage was rad until just near the bottom, where Paz and Stu took nasty spills on to hidden rock. Pain ensued.

If nothing else, it'll keep a lot of the glades up the top more fresh for longer, which = awesomeness, and means a whole new load of terrain to explore!

The downside? One less excuse to avoid riding Kill The Banker, the scariest-looking line going around (various cliffs near Vertigo and North Bowl excluded).

A quick google search for a pic of Kill The Banker with early season coverage came up with sweet FA, except this, from skiinet.com, which gives you some idea of what I'm talking about (though I have a sneaking suspicion this isn't actually the run):

Revelstoke, like any country town, is full of larger than life characters that make the place special.

Whether it's the unreasonably enthusiastic burger guy, the kickass bakery or the sensationally cheap fast food, the place is full of must-sees for anyone passing through.

With this in mind, click read more to check out Getting Stoked's Top Five of Revelstoke.

Revelstoke recently went through a dry spell on the hill, with no new snow for a week and temps hitting -35, pretty much turning the hill into icy crap.

This unfortunate turn of events inspired Getting Stoked's latest fad/craze (think marbles or yo yos in primary school), Things To Do When The Snow Doesn't Come.

Click read more, hopefully it'll make sense.

Well, here at the Getting Stoked house something amazing has happened.

About a week ago, Ron Burgundy, the famed newsreader from Anchorman, joined the crew and he tells us he is excited to spend a full season hanging out, drinking milk and eating wheels of cheese with Baxter.

And hey, if there's ever a full on gang fight with any rival blogs, we know Ron will have our back.

For the full wrap, click read more, it'll change your life.

First snowman of the season!

Look closely, he's packing more than a friendly smile...

Getting Stoked's very own Tanner secured enternal fame and infamy by landing a cover shot for Revelstoke's website on opening day.

Check out the brown jacket/helmet snowboarder with a grab off a rock drop here, and be stoked!

Or, just look below... I guess. But not as cool.

Just a few photos from our trip to Salmon Arm on Tuesday, passing through some of the most beautiful areas of the Canadian Rockies.

It snowed a few days earlier, but then warmed up above freezing so there wasn't too much snow around, and it gives you some idea of why the place is so popular in the summer too.

Holy crap, that was fun.

Revelstoke opened for a sneak peek last Saturday and Sunday, and it seemed that everyone within 1000000ks showed up to check out the mountain.
